One of our clients is looking for a Sous Chef. Please note that if you do not have experience in this field, your application will not be considered.
Sous Chef Required for upmarket Hotel with on site steakhouse – Zululand
- An ability to stay calm and work under pressure.
- An ability to take direction.
- Work in a TEAM environment.
- Manage the day-to-day kitchen operation, coordinate food production and ensure the highest level of food quality, taste and presentation.
- Ensuring your kitchen TEAM produces food to a high culinary standard through coaching & discipline.
- Ensure all kitchen TEAM adhere to the company’s uniform, grooming & appearance standards.
- Control of food cost through monitoring production, training of kitchen TEAM on the proper methods of food preparation and handling.
- Purchase requisitions, daily, weekly and monthly stock takes
- Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, including all store rooms at all times.
- Managing the kitchen HACCP plans.
- Menu development and costing
- Daily checks for maintenance issues, reporting & follow-up.
- Meeting & Greeting all arriving guest with specific dietary requirements.
- Successful candidate must be able to start employment by no later than 16 November 2015
